I have been associate professor of St. Petersburg State University and have guided many sightseeing tours of the city and the suburbs, both in Russian and English and, lately, in Norwegian. Now I am a certified Oslo guide.

In 1993, I translated Alf R. Bjercke’s “Norway” from English into Russian. The book proved to be the first guidebook of Norway in Russian, colorful, pictorial and informative. It run into several editions, but, unfortunately, after the author’s decease has become a rarity.

Since 1995, I have lived partly in St. Petersburg and partly in Oslo, but now I live in Oslo permanently. I have travelled a lot, especially in the western and northern parts of Norway, mostly by car, but also by train, bus and boat. I have also gone on walking and skiing tours in the Norwegian mountains. Therefore, I have every reason to believe that Norway is the most beautiful country of the world, with every corner worth seeing.

I often receive guests from both St. Petersburg and other parts of the former Soviet Union and take them on sightseeing tours not only in Oslo, the capital of Norway, with its wonderful parks, museums, architectural and sculptural monuments and cosy cafés and restaurants, - but to many other towns and places of this wonderful country.
