Sauran

Sauran – is a medieval settlement located in the South Kazakhstan region, 43 km north-west from the city of Turkestan. The monument is part of the State Museum-Reserve "Azret-Sultan" in the center of Turkestan. The height of the city walls of mud brick reaches 7 meters, the base of the walls up to 3 meters, the gate width of about 6 meters. In the first half of the XIV century, Sauran was the capital of White Orda. It is one of the cities that were destroyed by Dzhungars in 1723-1727 years.
