The mausoleum of Karashash-Ana

The mausoleum of Karashash-Ana is a historical and architectural monument of the XIX century. The mausoleum is located in the old cemetery in Sairam district. This is an example of one of the types of portal mausoleums of the late Middle Ages in the territory of the South Kazakhstan region.

The real name of Karashash-Ana is Aisha-bibi, she was the daughter of the famous Sairam sheikh Musa. In the 11th century, when Aisha Bibi lived in the region, science, culture and art developed rapidly. The mother of the great scholar Khoja Ahmed was one of the most enlightened, educated and well-educated women of her era. It is identified with the ideal of motherhood. Next to her grave are the graves of her loved ones - Ibrahim Hodji, Suleimen Hodja, Salim Hodge and Dauthodji Yassaui.
