Keme-kalgan

An unusual monument was set 40 kilometres from the city of Shymkent, on the route Almaty-Tashkent. Not far from the mountains of Kazygurt, at an altitude of 910 meters above sea level, there is a monument to Noah's Ark. According to local legend, two thousand years ago the prophet Nuh (Noah) landed on Mount Ararat. Since 2004, a huge concrete ship is met by everyone who travels by car along the route Almaty-Tashkent. People talk about 50 legends of the holiness of the mountain. People believe that this is the place where Noah landed. Local residents call this place "Keme-Kalgan" (the place of Noah's Ark). Surprisingly, the size of the local ark is the same as in the description in one of the holy sources, the length of the ark is three hundred cubits (150 m), its width is fifty cubits (25 meters), and its height is thirty cubits (15 m).
