GEIRANGERFJORD – a pearl of Norway, included in UNESCO World Heritage List, is situated in southwestern Norway, north of Bergen, and is considered as archetypical fjord landscape – and the most scenically outstanding anywhere. On our way to Geiranger (or back – depending on the route) we shall drive through the beautiful Gudbrandsdalen – called “The Dale of Dales” - and up (or down) the famous Trollstigen (“Trolls’ Steps”) – a serpentine mountain road with eleven hairpin bends, passing half-way the 320m drop of Stigfossen waterfall, that delights (or frightens) all the visitors. The round trip by car will take us three days with two overnight stays (in a camping place or to your liking). Trollstigen is usually open from mid-May until October. The famous Trolls' Wall which can impress everyone is not far from Geiranger and can be seen on the way.
